The relation between subculture and dominant culture is mainly in the fact that the subculture emerges as a resistance towards the dominant culture. So practically the dominant culture’s imperfections create a subculture. The norms of certain dominant culture are not acceptable by certain individuals, so they create their own culture, subculture, which usually has relatively small following, and they create their own norms and rules of living. The dominant culture and the subcultures coexist side by side, unfortunately there can be violent acts, both physically and mentally, from both sides, mainly because of not understanding each other.
